-
How much does it cost to join the Pack? -
We are a self-sustaining Pack... We receive no money from The Boy Scouts of America or from Bloom School PTO. Yearly dues (Collected in March) are $10.00. The Boy Scouts also require a $10.00 yearly fee. Additional costs would be a uniform shirt- not required but recommended ($45.00 aprox.) and a Scout Book ($7.00 aprox.)

Where can I get a Scout Uniform? -
Scout Uniforms, Books, Neckerchiefs, and other Scout related merchandise can be purchased from the Scout Headquarters (1800 7th. Ave, Rockford IL. Phone: 815-397-0210) or at Hobbytown USA (3782 N. Alpine Rd., Rockford IL. Phone: 815-282-0727)

When do you have Den Meetings? -
A quick answer: We don't... Den Meetings work well when you have a large Pack. The ability to break the boys into smaller groups makes it much more manageable for both the boys and for the leaders. Currently, its just not practical for Pack 409. Our Pack Meetings are our Den Meetings. The "Den-less" Pack concept has worked out well for us.
-
How old (or young) can a boy be to join Cub Scouts? -
Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades, or 7 to 10 years of age. Boys who are older than 10, or who have completed the fifth grade, can no longer join Cub Scouting, but they may be eligible to join the Boy Scouting or Venturing program.
-
Does my child have to go to Bloom School to join Pack 409? -
No. We welcome everyone no matter what school you attend. We have boys in our Pack that are from the neighborhood, from as far away as Roscoe, and several that are Home Schooled.
-
Can I just drop my child off and pick him up after the meetings are over? -
We wish you wouldn't. Our meetings typically involve a parent/child project and it would not be fair to leave him "on his own". Take a look through our photo gallery or meetings pages and you'll get a better idea of the type of projects we do. We like to think that our meetings give you a chance to bond with your child by working with him to achieve a common goal. We call it "Bonding through Building".
-
So what's a meeting like? -
The best way to find out is to come see for yourself. Typically our meetings start out with a Flag Ceremony, followed by an awards presentation. Then we usually start a "build project". We take a little break and have a snack, and then complete our project. We finish up with a recap of the meeting and a glimpse of our next get-together.

We have purchased a shirt. So... where do the patches go? -
The document below is the official Unit Uniform Inspection Sheet. It shows where all of the patches should go...
